An Eggciting Day!

Updated: Oct 19, 2019

In first grade, we are working on our Animal PBL. Fortunately, we have a family of egg-perts on birds this school year! Silkie chickens to be exact ;) Thank you Hammerstone family, for bringing in Rosie, Betty, and Chip. The children loved learning about these flightless feathered friends.

Silkie Chicken Fun Facts: 1.) They cannot fly. 2.) Their silky feathers look like fur. 3.) Their feathers grow all the way down to their feet. 4.) They have dark purplish/blackish skin.

5.) Their eggs are much smaller than store-bought eggs.
