Crafting for a Cause

Teaching macrame has been fun this year, but I'm SO excited to bring back knitting and get my students involved, helping the animals of Australia. I can't wait for Animal Rescue Craft Guild to update their list of needed items, to see how the "Owls" at Lincoln's STEM Charter School can help❤

Want to give knitting a try or have your child practice at home? Here are some links to the supplies we use in class (for reference.) Many of these items can be found cheaper at Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and JoAnns Fabrics (especially if you use their coupons.)

1. Size 10, 5.75mm Knitting Needles Amazon

2. Bernat Blanket Yarn (my personal favorite for beginning knitters) Amazon **MUCH cheaper at JoAnns**

3. Hobby Lobby Tutorial for beginning knitters Youtube

*In my genius hour, we learn to: cast on, knit stitch, and bind off. However, this video also provides a tutorial for the pearl stitch :)
