For our school-wide Flight PBL, first grade focuses on parachutes! Our content focus is Engineering Design: designing, building, and problem solving. Other subject areas to be included are: 1) ELA: opinion writing, 2) Math: geometric shapes, measuring, and weight, and 3) Science: floating and motion.
We kicked this new learning opportunity off by exploring a GIANT parachute together as a class. Then we came back together and discussed what we noticed and wondered.
