Today your children learned about John Chapman and his journey west from Massachusetts planting apple trees as he moved across our country. In honor of his memory we worked our way through several activities that involved reading, art, math, and even explored their sense with apple tasting! After they made their "appleseed hats," we read a story that answered their biggest question of the day - why did her wear a pot on his head?? (Because he didn't want to carry it!)
The website linked below isn't the story that I read your children, but I thought some of you might enjoy a quick and fun read that helps separate fact from legend. Enjoy!
