Shape(ing) Young Minds

In the Eureka Math curriculum for first grade, module 5 is all about shapes. We started off, learning about basic 2 dimensional shapes and have now moved on to learning about 3 dimensional shapes! For homework last night, students were asked to create a structure - using "3-D" objects that they could find around their own home. Some children made buildings, one made a unicorn, a rocket ship, another made a cube, and one child even built a person! I love seeing these kids building and getting creative. :)
